MEET THE I.D.E.A. DIRECTOR

Colin McPherson

Colin is a 20 year old activist and political science student from the state of Oklahoma and is now attending Arizona State University. He started his political journey in high school founding the Oklahoma youth climate action coalition, working with his school district social justice and equity committee and serving on the high school democrats of Oklahoma executive board. After graduating high school in 2022 he went on to attend the University of Oklahoma where he was recognized with the OU center for social justice student commitment to social justice award, and became an OUT in National Security New Voices Honoree while serving on the OU Gender and Equality Center program advisory board and as the Chief of Staff for the College Democrats at the University of Oklahoma.

In the summer of 2024 he was hired by the Arizona Coordinated Campaign as a field organizer in AZ Congressional District 1 while serving as the newly appointed CDA IDEA Director. Following the campaign he has transferred to ASU and now serves as the founder and President of the Arizona Federation of the College Democrats.

Throughout his political career his work has been underscored by a proven track record of social justice working in the lgbtq community, becoming a published author, and fighting for marginalized communities throughout the United States as the reelected CDA IDEA Director.
