Sunjay is a PreLaw student studying Political Science at the University of California, San Diego. His political journey began in 2020, creating his own political Instagram account that amassed over 17 million views at its peak & working locally where he received school-district-wide recognition for his work to advance social inclusivity on his home campus.

He later went on to serve as the Vice President of College Democrats of UCSD, San Diego Regional Director of CA College Democrats, National Communications Director & National Vice President of College Democrats of America. Now, he’s an Advisor for the College Democrats of UCSD & National Outreach Director for the CA College Democrats alongside his role as National President. Within these roles, Sunjay has prided himself as an authentic representative of youth, willing to speak truth to power for the betterment of the party and the nation as a whole. Under his leadership as National Vice President, CDA expanded into seven new states, re-invigorated its media presence and received explicit commitments from all major 2025 DNC Chair candidates to increase the DNC’s support of CDA in the coming year.

Outside of the collegiate realm, Sunjay was the youngest superdelegate in the state of CA during the 2024 DNC Convention, has been featured on various news outlets including 4 features in the New York Times, and spearheaded the California Democratic Party’s digital outreach to young voters for the 2024 election cycle. He plans on attending law school and running for office later in his career as a champion of a just and modernized economy in the wake of AI, compassion for those with differing political affiliations, and a political system that is no longer dominated by corporate & foreign interests.
